![]() Be bold and detailed with gameplay elements, and accommodate different players with systemic toggles and other controls. ![]() This is a great start, and I think you should keep this level of detail going when it comes to gameplay. This is amazing! Truly! I will feel much more confident with modding my own gameplay and creating things for others with clear choices like the ones you are offering. Thank you! Indeed, these are advanced settings more tailored for modders or custom content creators, but we will try to make them as user friendly as possible still! Seems a bit complicated as someone who is not very knowledgeable in this area, but even if people like me wanted to change something specific that would require using this there'd probably be tons of people online that could help you out. Wouldn't want to have to change my presets every time I opened a save for a slice of life game, or a dystopian style game For instance I might have a save that's a fantasy world, with pink skies and a purple moon. Hey □ I would like to know if we’ll be able to share our content only by steam or not?ĭefinitely think saved presets for control panel that can be different depending on the save (rather than affecting your whole game, if multiple save files are an option) would be good. This looks great! Would we also be able to 'hide' or remove an item we don't particularly care for to decrease the number of base game items we need? This is so fantastic I almost have no words! I can't wait to play around with this! Thank you for making accissible mod tools for those of us who want to mess around with specifics like this but don't have coding experience! Exporting and importing options would allow followers to have the same settings to attempt the challenge. An example use case would be a popular Paralives content creator creating a gameplay challenge on an alien world that requires many specific options (such as astronomy to affect the moons and lighting as well as custom life spans). I love this! I think exporting / importing all of the settings is crucial. Any settings can be tweaked, any content can be edited and new content can be added. Someone could do a mod that changes all the prices of the furniture, a mod that makes the game’s sunset longer and prettier, a mod that adds new hairstyles and clothing items. If the control panel seems complicated and overwhelming to you, don’t worry, people will be able to share their own changes to the control panel so you will be able to download them as mods on Steam. We’re still improving these tools and working on documentation so people will be able to know what every parameter does. We hope that the control panel will help modders and advanced players tweak every little aspect of Paralives to their liking. ![]() Here’s a description of some of the parameters that you can edit on an item: There, you can tweak any information associated with a piece of furniture or other objects that can be placed in the world. Our last example for today is the items section of the control panel. In the screenshot below, you can see the equipment section of the control panel where you can add, edit or delete new equipment items. Next, equipment is the term we use to represent any visual elements that can be seen on a character: clothing, accessories, hair, makeup, freckles and so on. The settings were used to create this video where we showcase the day and night cycle in Paralives. This interface will be a bit complex and packed with a ton of data so of course, there will also be a traditional settings menu for players who will be looking for a more simple way to tweak the most essential options.įirst, in the astronomy section of the control panel, you can change the colors of the sky, the information related to the revolution and rotation of the Earth and the stars in the sky. Any Paralives feature that you can think of will have settings associated with it and tinkerers will be able to change them in the control panel. ![]() The control panel can be seen as an extremely thorough settings menu for modders and advanced players. This post is for Patrons only so please don’t share it!Ī sneak peek at the control panel interface showing some of the settings that can be edited. This is done through what we call the control panel, a tool that is part of our mod system and that is directly accessible in-game. The answer to all of these and to any question starting with “will there be a setting to” is: yes, if you are an advanced player willing to try our modding tools! With Paralives, we’ve built tools to make it so almost any game content, numbers, information and parameters can be tweaked easily. People often ask us questions like: will there be a way to change the speed at which Parafolks grow up? Will there be a way to tweak the weather? Will there be a way to change the cost of building a wall?
